Sometimes Later

Sometimes
I am a smoker
and a drunk
Sometimes
I’m not and
engage with the world
Sometimes
whirling and curling
I accept all animals as equals
Sometimes
that is my only hope
to accept my own species

Lately
the arrogance of humanity
has me disturbed
Lately
we are too many too many
and suffering is on the rise
Lately
there is little respect
for all creatures great and small
Lately
we are shitting our own bed
and finding sleep untenable.

Live on the ocean and sail the world, and you will see it even more. Global warming does not matter. We will starve first by poisoning the ocean. And the anger of men will cause wars as we die. I have seen man’s inhumanity to his fellow man, his environment, and his fellow creatures. I fear the end will be bleak.

I am of the same mind. I believe that if women had true equal rights and education in all cultures, we would not be in the state we’re in, population-wise, but that will never happen because we’re too stupid. Human over-population is destroying the world. We are less than a blink geologically, and have set the extinction clock way ahead. We are a virulent toxin in the petri dish. And I’m sugar-coating my explanation. 🙂

Yes. I agree to all of what you said. I wrote about a bit of it in I Hate the Yankees. I also think we should stop tax deductions for having children, have vasectomies for all felons (most responsible men have.) And thats a start.

Yes! I feel those same strains. Care and concern, compassion and kindness…just for starters, are not the coin of today’s realm. I always look forward to what you have to share!

I bet, your writing style is your true character(Brilliant and sharp, I believe. :)). I love the “Lately’ part so much, especially,
    “Lately
we are shitting our own bed
    and finding sleep untenable”

A lot of my writing is about the slow death of us because the planet will go on, even after our savage efforts and despite what we are doing to the animal kingdom, inhabitants who suffer mercilessly by us. I enjoyed you write, and sentiments.
