Omniscience

I can handle my liquor, but
fall on my face;
My intelligence is genius, but
misinterprets the problem;
I see all obstacles, but
step into the hole;
My kindness is legendary, but
my words bring tears;
I am a great driver, but
the bicyclist has to miss me;
I am forthright and brave, but
hide from the truth.

My omniscience is suspect.

    Thanks for this one…

    Every now and then I’ve been smiling about this one since yesterday. I hear your voice when I read it. I sure do miss you.

    This is going to be a great year. Say that out loud. Write about it. Go down to the beach with a bottle of wine and drink to 2021. I’m trying to marshal the forces of the universe for the great year but Greatness is a big lift so your contribution will be appreciated.

    I really appreciate the wisdom in this poetry, Jim. It’s a “thinking piece,” for sure.
